In a unexpected crossover event that challenges usual forecasts, Ubisoft has unveiled an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, including free bonus story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Mission Uncovered

According to the authorized release, "A strange encounter leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where hints of banned practices and monstrous changes reverberate through the shadows." The plot introduces a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a secret group.

The mission focuses on "peculiar experiments and a fearsome adversary" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Places and Metamorphoses

The trailer showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer ends with a striking scene showing a character, likely the hostage, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Rewards and Bonus Content

Players who accomplish the adventure will obtain an exclusive katana together with several objects secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Mikasa costume for Naoe

Newest Free Story Content

This patch also introduces the game's newest free story content, titled "The Enigma." This humorous mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature techniques: Naoe debuts a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

The series earlier included a 2020 crossover story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
